Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tells No Tales is a below average wrap up for the franchise.
As a fan of the original Trilogy of Pirates and not so much of a fan of the fourth installment, Dead Man Tells No Takes invokes fails to bring anything new to the franchise or harken back to what made the first few Pirates films work.
While most of the cast is on point, providing familiar moments and hitting many nostalgic notes, it did not always work. Still, it was nice to see some of the iconic characters from the first 3 films return to complete their character arcs and tie up all loose plot points.
Dead Men Tell No Tales is uneven in tone and as a potential finale to the franchise, did not hit the necessary marks to compete with it’s iconic predecessors.
