Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 follows the Harry, Ron and Hermoine as they finally take the war to Voldemort following the death of Dumbledore. The film continues it’s dark trend and let’s the cast express themselves in the characters they’ve grown with over the past 7 years.
David Yates finally comes into his own as his directing skills are on full display. Taking the best of what made Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince great, Yates takes the trio to a much more quiet, sober and emotional platform.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 sees Harry and his friends more alone than ever. The film starts with the final goodbye to the Harry’s aunt, uncle and cousin, Hermione erasing her parent’s memory of her and Ron saying goodbye to his tight knit family. Right from the start, it is clear nothing will be the same for the franchise. Harry does not return to Hogwarts for Year 7. Following the death of Dumbledore, Harry knows what must be done. Armed with the blueprint to take down Voldemort, the crew is put to the ultimate test as bonds are tested and friendships are almost broken.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is anything but the traditional Harry Potter film. The school songs and bright spells are traded for a battle of psychological warfare between Harry and Voldemort.
Backed with brilliant writing and great directing, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is one of the best films of the series.
