With the release date of the next instalment of the Wonder Woman film franchise exactly one year away, director Patty Jenkins confirmed that the presence of Warner Bros. will unfortunately not be felt in Hall H at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Of course, Jenkins didn’t leave Wonder Woman fans empty handed. The director shared an image of the first official Wonder Woman 1984 movie poster and as expected, it was epic.
With this great look at something new, the poster was accompanied by some signature 1980s neon vibes. The poster shared by Jenkins features Diana of Themyscira in full golden body armor, reminiscent of the golden eagle armor the Amazon warrior has donned in past comic books. Whether the superhero will also sport the golden wings and eagle head helmet still remains to be seen.

Earlier stills revealed from the film do show Wonder Woman sporting the outfit that has become a staple since her introduction in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, so we know that the warrior princess will be seen in at least two costumes in the upcoming movie.
Over the years, the DC icon has sported a plethora of looks including a very 80s cropped leather jacket, as well as various alternate timeline suits including the full body armor from the “Flashpoint” storyline.
It will be interesting to see just how the new armor makes its grand appearance in the second film and how the look will translate on-screen. In any case, it’s an exciting time to be a Wonder Woman fan.
Wonder Woman 1984 is slated for a June 5, 2020 release.
