DC announced a 3-film animated lineup for 2020, following the Batman: Hush premier last night at Comic Con. Superman: Red Son, and Superman: Man of Tomorrow were announced. DC also announced a follow-up to the 2017 Justice League: Dark movie, titled Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
Superman: Red Son was a 2003 Elseworld storyline, which answered the question “What if Superman’s ship landed in Russia, instead of the United States?” Red Son was a 3-issue comic mini-series, by Mark Millar. The series was nominated for a 2004 Eisner award for best limited series. The series spans from early 1950s – 2001. Superman’s ship lands on a Ukrainian farm, instead of a farm in Kansas, during the Soviet era. Superman becomes a Soviet symbol, and finds himself in Joseph Stalin’s inner circle, and fights for the preservation of communism. The United States gets sent into a panic, and Lex Luthor finds himself working to stop Superman by creating a clone of him. Lex Luthor in an employee of S.T.A.R labs, and is married to Lois Lane in this Elseworld line.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow, was announced for 2020, but not too much information was revealed. It will be an origin story following a young Clark Kent. This is fantastic news for Superman fans, not one, but two animated Superman movies next year. Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, is also among the lineup. With, three new animated movies we will also be getting a few animated shorts. Earlier this year, it was announced we’d get a couple animated shorts featuring, Sgt. Rock, Phantom Stranger, and Adam Strange.

No official release dates have been announced yet for any of the upcoming animated movies. Batman: Hush has official been released as of today, July 20th.
